Our Smash Play sessions are led by a qualified cricket coaches. Parental involvement  is still encouraged - and part of the fun!

Smash Play is an introduction to the basics of the game for Year 0 - Year 1 (5 & 6 year olds).  Children will develop a range of fundamental skills – such as throwing, catching and striking a ball while playing a variety of fun activities, drills and games. All gear is provided. It is expected children who are registering have already started school or will be starting during the season.

Smash Play is the first step on a pathway that can lead to a lifelong involvement in cricket.​​​​​​​​​​​​​

For the 2026/27 OJCC will be trailling a girls-only Smash Play option. This will also be open to girls who are already 7 years old or in year 3 and want to try cricket but do not feel ready to commit to a team.
